Spooky Story Entry

Writer: Alycia RoderickAlycia Roderick

The wind begins to howl through the dark forest. The moon grows more and more red by the minute.

“ Come out already, im not gonna hurt you” A voice calls from the darkness of the forest.

Keres, a teenage girl hid, not far from where the mysterious figure was calling out to her. Her brother, Bates also hid. She wasnt sure where he had run to but she knew he got away. Their was a rustling in the brush a couple of feet away and suddenly she saw long blond hair, long red finger nails and skin as pale as the moonlight. Too bad those nails arent made of nail polish. The dark red blood dripped from the creatures fingertips. Keres held backher scream and tried to inch her way slowly away from the terrifying creature.

“Aww dont be scared, you wont feel a thing” The creature krept towards her and everything went black.

Keres awoke beside her brother. It was a dream, it was only a dream. She thought. Except she could tell something was off. The hair on her neck stood up. This isnt right somethings off she thought. “ Bates, Bates you gotta wake up” She shook him desperately “ Bates come on we need to leave, something isnt right”

Only then, after 5 minutes of trying to wake Bates up, did Keres realize a devastating truth. Bates was dead. A huge gash has been made in his stomach and bruises coveres his arms and face. It looked as though he had been beaten to death. As hard as she tried Keres could not hold back her tears. That is, until she heard a familiar sound of nails against metal bars.

“ Well well well…. Look who’s awoken from her sleep. It was about time… Keres”

The girl had no idea how the figure knew her name. At that moment the figure stepped into the light. “ Recognize me yet?” Keres gasped. Their stood her sister. The only problem was that her sister had died a year ago.

Police sirens sounded outside and then it snapped. It was as if Keres had awoken from a bad dream, her sister vanished and in place of her was a mirror. Their she saw herself, covered in blood and holding a knife, her nails dripping with blood. The girl screamed and the knife flew from her hand and at a bulliton board on the opposite wall. There, she saw cutouts and plans for murder after murder.

The police entered the room. They saw nothing. She had escaped.
